Proven Effectiveness
TEDEPAD® equipment has been successfully installed and tested on board various fishing vessels. TEDEPAD technology has been validated on board by the CSIC within the framework of the PARASITE project and its validation has been confirmed within the framework of the GESTPAR project. (BOE access ministerial order)
Our Teams
TEDEPAD® is the first system specifically designed to treat the viscera generated when processing fish on board fishing vessels. Its goal is to completely inert the parasites, especially Anisakids, allowing these viscera to be returned to the sea without negatively affecting marine ecosystems.
This contributes to reducing the concentration of these parasites in the fishing grounds where our fleet fishes.
Anisakis
The Problem
Anisakiasis is a parasitic disease caused by the accidental ingestion of fish contaminated by larvae of worms from the Anisakidae family. Added to this problem are the allergic reactions (some severe) caused by proteins specific to Anisakis, even when the fish is dead.
The life cycle of Anisakis species takes place in the marine environment, where they pass through several hosts throughout their lives: crustaceans, fish, cephalopods, and marine mammals.
The treatment of contaminated viscera and waste returned to the sea during on-board fish processing is essential to reduce the concentration of these parasites in commercially valuable species.

04
Effects
-Damage to the fish’s internal organs, which, in the case of breeding females, leads to reduced recruitment of the species.
-Severe allergies in humans.
-Consumer rejection and mistrust, leading to reduced consumption.
-Higher processing costs.
-Etc.

TEDEPAD®
The Solution
It directly intervenes in the marine ecosystem, minimizing the problem of parasites in fish at its source.
TEDEPAD® is the only fish parasite inertizer that has earned international recognition and is scientifically and technically validated both in land-based installations and onboard industrial fishing vessels.
TEDEPAD® Effectively eliminates parasites found in fish viscera obtained from fishing vessels during routine on-board gutting processes.

Technology and Validated Product
The TEDEPAD has been validated within the framework of the PARASITE Project http://parasite-project.eu/project with partners from 13 countries and funded by the European Union.
In 2024, within the framework of the GESTPAR Management Commission from the General Secretariat of Fisheries (MAPA) to the Marine Research Institute (IIM) – CSIC, the latest TEDEPAD model was revalidated after demonstrating its effectiveness in inactivating parasites on board. BOE-A-2022-24655.pdf
Currently, there are several TEDEPAD units operating in international fishing grounds aboard fishing vessels of different types.Currently, there are several TEDEPAD units operating in international fishing grounds aboard fishing vessels of different types.
Automatic Operation
The TEDEPAD® is fully automatic and requires no consumables. Its installation on the vessel requires no major modifications, as it is inserted directly into the existing waste extraction pipes in the fishing ground. It does not interfere with daily work on board.
